Custom crating builds a rigid, purpose-made enclosure around each item so it can withstand the vibration, pressure, and handling of a long-distance move. A custom crate is measured and constructed for one specific item. Unlike a stock box, it eliminates the empty space where an object can shift, and it distributes impact away from fragile edges and surfaces.

Our Process

We begin with a condition assessment and precise measurements. Each item is wrapped in acid-free materials, cushioned with high-density foam, and immobilized inside a wooden crate engineered for its weight and shape.

For paintings and framed works we use corner protectors and floating mounts; for three-dimensional pieces we build internal bracing so nothing touches the crate walls during transit.
